OUR STORY
Two paths, one lovely adventure.
Every good story starts somewhere, and ours began in Dublin — although we took quite different routes to get there.
Adrienne grew up around Shankill, on the Dublin–Wicklow border, while Declan's journey began in Kilkenny. After college in Cork, Declan stayed there to work for 11 years before moving to Dublin to join a company called Ammeon, where Adrienne was already working.
At the time, Declan had his sights set on living and working in America. But when a change of project put those plans on hold, life had something else in store. He decided to stay in Dublin — and we're very glad he did.
Outside work, Declan's love of pool led him to organise regular Thursday-night games at The Hideout. What started as a few games with friends soon became a popular weekly gathering, bringing more and more people together.
Before long, Adrienne joined in too. Her friends began to wonder about this sudden enthusiasm for Thursday nights and started asking who exactly “Thursday” was. Little did they know that a few games of pool would turn into something much bigger.
You could say it was love at first break. We'll admit the joke is terrible, but the story behind it is pretty good!
As they got to know each other, Declan and Adrienne discovered a shared love of travel, festivals and getting out to experience something new. From exploring new places to making memories along the way, their adventures have taken them to around 34 countries together — and counting.
These days, they've made a home in Baldoyle with their beautiful Golden Retriever, Kobi. There's still plenty of exploring left to do, but their next big adventure is bringing together the family and friends who have been part of their journey so far, to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter.
